celtic cut hearts' lead at the top, dundee look to snap losing streak

Celtic FC extended their winning run in the Scottish Premier League (SPL) over the weekend.

The defending champions thumped Hearts 5-0 with Congo-Brazzaville international Clevid Dikamona playing the entire game for the losing side on Saturday.

As a result, Celtic cut log leaders Hearts' lead to one point and they also recorded their fifth consecutive league win.

Rangers moved into third place after beating St Mirren 2-0 away, while Motherwell secured a narrow 1-0 win over a struggling Dundee side.

Nigeria international Efe Ambrose's Hibernian suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to St Johnstone, while Hamilton Academical edged out Livingston 1-0.

Match-day 13 action will take place this weekend with Hibernian facing Aberdeen on Friday.

Hearts will be keen to extend their lead at the top of the league standings when they face DR Congolese midfielder Aaron Tshibola's Kilmarnock on Saturday.

Dundee will be looking to snap their five-match losing streak when they take on fellow strugglers St Mirren.
