The Scottish FA have charged Steven MacLean for violent conduct after he was cited for grabbing Celtic's Eboue Kouassi by the groin during a League Cup semifinal clash this past weekend.
According to reports, MacLean is facing a two-match ban after the SFA compliance officer reviewed footage of the incident from Sunday's match.
The Ivorian fell to the floor in the penalty area following a coming together with MacLean, who clearly grabbed the 20-year-old by the private parts.
Kouassi protested with the referee, but the incident wasn't spotted by the match official at the time and no action was taken.
"It was just a laugh, just a coming together," said MacLean in the aftermath. "If I went down every time a centre-half niggled me I would be on my backside all day. It was just handbags".
Kouassi, who has struggled with injury, has just featured on five occasions for the Hoops this season across all competitions.
