Following the completion of the 2018 DTM season with the final round in Hockenheim last weekend, we look back at the defining statistics of the championship.
255 – The points haul of 2018 DTM drivers champion Gary Paffett. He claimed the title by just four points.
10 – The basis of Paffett’s title triumph was in his consistency: he had 10 podium finishes in 2018, the most of any driver.
5 – Paffett also racked up the most pole positions of any driver, putting himself at the front of the grid five times through the season.
363 – The points haul of 2018 DTM team champions Mercedes-AMG Motorsport Petronas.

7 – Despite winning seven races (including a run of six in a row) – the most of any driver in 2018 – Rene Rast only finished second in the drivers’ championship.
3 – Three guest drivers featured through the 2018 DTM season: Alex Zanardi, Sebastien Ogier and Mattias Ekstrom.
2018 – This was the last DTM season in which Mercedes participated. They have now turned their attention to a new entry into the Formula E series.
371 – The number of kilometres in which Rene Rast was in the lead throughout the 2018 DTM season, the most of any driver.
138 – Unsurprisingly, Rast also had the most leading laps of any driver. His mark of 138 equates to 19 percent of all leading laps through the season.
235 – Robin Frijns was the most prolific overtaker through the 2018 DTM season, recording 235 in the ‘positions improved’ category.
232 – The dubious honour of the most ‘positions lost’ belongs to Lucas Auer, with his record for the season sitting at 232.
199 – The number of days between now (October 18) and the scheduled start of the next DTM season on 4 May 2019.
