Round eight of the 2018/19 Dutch Eredivisie season saw PSV Eindhoven maintain their perfect start to the campaign.

The first game of the weekend was played on Friday with Morocco international Oussama Tannane's Utrecht securing a 2-1 win over NAC Breda at home.

The defending champions and log leaders, PSV recorded their eighth successive victory when they beat Togo international Peniel Mlapa's VVV-Venlo 4-0 at home on Saturday.

Heerenveen thumped De Graafschap 5-0 away, while PEC Zwolle overcame 2-0 Excelsior at home and ADO Den Haag recorded a 1-0 home win over Groningen.

On Sunday, third-placed Feyenoord were held to a 1-1 draw by a resilient Willem II side away and Emmen drew 3-3 with Fortuna Sittard in a thrilling encounter at home.

Cameroon international Andre Onana's Ajax Amsterdam remained second despite thumping AZ Alkmaar 5-0 at home.

Lastly, South African playmaker Thulani Serero helped Vitesse Arnhem secure a 4-0 home victory against Heracles Almelo.

The Eredivisie action will continue after the upcoming FIFA international break.
