Match-day 12 of the 2018/19 English Football League (EFL) campaign saw Sheffield United move to the top of the standings on Saturday.

United climbed to the top of the league table after securing a hard-fought 1-0 home victory over Mali international Nouha Dicko’s Hull City, who are placed 24th on the standings.

West Bromwich Albion moved into second spot after beating Reading FC 4-1 at home, while Aston Villa suffered a 2-1 defeat to Milwall away and Norwich City lost 1-0 to Stoke City at home.

South Africa international Kamohelo Mokotjo’s Brentford held Leeds United to a 1-1 stalemate away, while Queens Park Rangers (QPR) drew 1-1 with Derby County at home and Middlesbrough were stunned 2-0 by Nottingham Forest at home.

Nigerian defender Semi Ajayi played the entire match as his side, Rotherham United suffered a 3-1 defeat to Birmingham City away, while Preston North End thumped Wigan Athletic 4-0 at home.

Swansea City succumbed to a 3-2 defeat to Ipswich Town at home and Nigerian winger Sammy Ameobi's Bolton Wanderers lost 1-0 to Blackburn Rovers at home.

One match was played on Sunday with Sheffield Wednesday securing a 2-1 away win over Bristol City, who have Senegalese striker Famara Diedhiou on their books.

The EFL Championship action will continue after the upcoming FIFA international break.
