celtic return to winning ways, hearts look to maintain top spot

Match-day seven of the 2018/19 Scottish Premier League (SPL) campaign produced interesting results.

Four games were played on Saturday with defending champions Celtic beating Aberdeen 1-0 at home in the first game of the weekend.

Log leaders, Hearts, who have Congo-Brazzaville international Clevid Dikamona on their books, remained at the top of the league standings after beating St Johnstone 2-1 at home.

Ghanaian striker Thomas Agyepong's club, Hibernian edged out St Mirren 1-0 away, while Dundee secured their first win of the season when they beat Hamilton Academical 2-0 away.

On Sunday, Nigeria youth international Umar Sadiq's Rangers suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Livingston.

Match-day eight action will start on Saturday with four games taking place.

Motherwell will face off with Livingston, while St Mirren will be away to Aberdeen and Dundee will be eyeing their second successive when they face Kilmarnock at home.

On Sunday, DR Congo international Youssef Mulumbu's Cetic will be away to St Johnstone.

The round will be headlined by an encounter between Rangers and Hearts, who are yet to taste defeat this season.
