Kalidou Koulibaly donned the Napoli captain's armband for the first time this week in a 3-0 Serie A win over Parma.
The Senegal international wore the armband following the substitution of Lorenzo Insigne in the second half, with regular skipper Marek Hamsik on the bench.
"It was a great feeling and I'm very proud to have worn the Napoli captain's armband for the first time," said Koulibaly as quoted by the club's official website.
The 27-year-old has played every minute for Napoli this season, in what is his fifth campaign at the club following his move from Belgium Pro League side Genk four years ago.
In total, Koulibaly has made 171 appearances for the club - scoring eight times. He recently signed a new long-term contract to keep him at the Stadio San Paolo until 2023.
