16:28    21 Sep 2018

Club Brugge will be aiming to keep hold of their spot atop the 2018-19 Belgium Pro League standings with victory away to Gent in round eight of the season.

The Blauw-Zwart succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League this week, but boast an unblemished record in Belgium's top-flight.

Brugge have recorded six wins from their allotted matches this season and are one of three teams in the league that have yet to taste defeat.

The defending champions, though, will have their work cut out against a Gent side desperate to bounce back to winning ways following a surprise defeat last time out.

Genk and Antwerp are the other two teams that have yet to lose after seven rounds of action in Belgium's top division. Antwerp boast the strongest defensive record and have only conceded three goals in seven matches.

Waasland-Beveren are the only team yet to register a win in the league this season while bottom placed Royal Excel Mouscron finally broke their duck with victory at home to KV Kortrijk last weekend.
