Senegal international Sadio Mane will be aiming to continue his good scoring form in Europe when Liverpool take to the field against Paris Saint-Germain in the opening round of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League tonight.
Mane has scored in three successive European games having netted in home and away fixtures against AS Roma, before scoring Liverpool's only goal in a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the final.
The 26-year-old scored 10 goals in 11 Champions League games last season, including a hat-trick in an emphatic 5-0 win away to FC Porto in the Round of 16.
According to Liverpool's official website, Mane could match a feat last achieved by former Reds skipper Steven Gerrard tonight if he scores against the French champions.
Should Mane score this evening, he will become only the fifth different Liverpool player to score in four successive matches in Europe - and the first since Gerrard did so in five during the 2007-08 campaign.
Mane has scored four goals in five English Premier League games this season for the Merseyside club who boast an unblemished record this season.
