Former Ghana captain Michael Essien lauded his countrymen, Shadrack Adombila and Alex Agyarkwa.
The young footballers caught the eye during Africa XI's draw against English Premier League (EPL) giants Chelsea FC's legends on Friday.
Adombila and his young team-mates had a chance to face Chelsea Legends including Michael Essien, Dennis Wise and Celestine Babayaro.
Africa XI were captained by Adombila, while Agyarkwa scooped the Most Valuable Player accoladen.
Essien met the pair on a Rexona search for talents campaign, and he was excited by the display.
“I want to say thanks to everyone, thanks to the boys. They made us work hard and it’s been a pleasure playing against you,” Essien said on Ghana Soccer Net.
“It’s been a long journey, I met Alex and Shadrack in Ghana. To see them here is great and congratulations to Alex for winning the Man of the Match.
“I wish you all very well and hope you guys can make a future with your career.”
The game ended in a 1-1 draw with Marco de Bruin scoring the equalizer for Africa XI.
