Belgian Pro League's KSC Lokeren are close to signing DR Congolese midfielder Geoffrey Mujangi Bia, who is a free-agent.
The 29-year-old player has been training with Tricolores as he looks to impress the club’s technical team having parted ways with Turkish Super Lig 1 side Kayserispor at the end of last season.
Lokeren head coach Peter Maes told Het Laatste Nieuws that he is looking forward to working with the Kinshasa-born attacking midfielder.
"Creativity and speed: exactly what we need,” the former KRC Genk head coach said about the player.
Bia is back in Belgium having left the country for Swiss side Sion in 2015, before moving to Turkey where he joined Kayserispor in 2017.
"I have told him that this may be his last chance. Bia is hungry," he added.
"I immediately saw things that can give us something in training, and within two or three weeks I expect him to be competitive."
Last season, Bia helped Akhisar Belediyespor win their first professional trophy, Turkish Cup while on loan from Kayserispor.
He has also played for Pro League sides Sporting Charleroi and Standard Liège, English clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Watford FC.
The 2018/19 Belgian Pro League game between Club Brugge v Lokeren will be beamed live on Fox Sport 2 on Friday at 20h30 CAT.
