Primeiro de Agosto will look to make the most of home advantage when they host TP Mazembe for the first leg of a 2018 CAF Champions League quarterfinal.
The match is set for Estadio 11 de Novembro in Luanda on Saturday, September 15, kick-off at 18h00 CAT.
Primeiro qualified for the last eight by finishing second in Group D, where they collected nine points from their six matches against Etoile du Sahel (who topped the group on 12 points), Zesco United and Mbabane Swallows.
The Angolan side made sure of their progression with a 2-1 home win over Swallows on August 28, with goals from Jacques Bitumba and Geraldo.
Primeiro come into the game on a high having claimed a third successive Girabola (Angolan top flight league) championship earlier this month.
TP Mazembe went unbeaten through Group B and topped the log on 12 points. Their opponents in the pool were a trio of North African sides: ES Setif, MC Alger (both Algeria) and Difaa El Jadidi (Morocco).
The DR Congo giants closed out the group stage with a 1-1 draw at home to Difaa on August 28, with Ben Malango’s penalty cancelled out by a last-gasp equaliser from Houssine Khoukhouche.
Redouane Jiyed of Morocco will referee the match in Luanda on Saturday. The return match is scheduled for Friday, September 21 at Stade TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi.
