Senegal international Kara Mbodji has reflected on his time with Belgian Pro League giants RSC Anderlecht.

The defender-cum-midfielder recently moved to French Ligue 1 side FC Nantes on loan for the 2018/19 season.

Nantes have also secured an option to sign the lanky player permanently at the end of the loan deal.

Mbodji stated that it was time for him to leave the record 34-time Pro League champions.

"It was time for a new challenge", Mbodji said on Anderlecht Online.

"The policy at RSC Anderlecht has changed completely since the new management comes in.

The 28-year-old player made only 13 appearances in the league for Anderlecht last season.

"With my knee there are not really any problems, although I will never be able to convince you that it is 100%," he added.

"It is just like that and I have to learn to accept that."

Anderlecht will take on Genk in a Belgian Pro League encounter on Saturday.

The game will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 at 20h30 CAT.
