African stars Hakim Ziyech and Andre Onana will look to steer Eredivisie giants Ajax into the next round of the UEFA Champions League qualifiers when they face Sturm Graz tonight.
The Dutch side take a 2-0 lead to the Merkur Arena in Austria, where they will play the second leg of their second round qualifying tie.
Ajax won the first leg in Amsterdam 2-0 last Tuesday, with Morocco’s Ziyech opening the scoring in the 15th minute.
The home side’s advantage was doubled in the 57th minute by Lasse Schone, giving them a solid foundation for what should be a testing return game.
Ziyech, who was strongly linked with a move away from Ajax during the European summer but looks set to remain with the club, will once again be a key figure for Erik ten Haag’s side.
The same can be said of Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana, who will need to be in top form against a Graz attack which could feature Nigerian attacker Emeka Friday Eze.
Should Ajax emerge victorious overall, they will advance into the third qualifying round and face Belgian First Division A team Standard Liege.
Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven are already seeded in the ‘Champions path’ of the playoff round, where they will play either Red Bull Salzburg or KF Shkendija.
