Ghana defender Daniel Opare praised the supporters of Royal Antwerp following the club's victory over the weekend.
The Great Old secured a hard-fought 1-0 win at Sporting Charleroi in the 2018/19 Belgian Pro League opener on Sunday.
The 27-year-old player played the entire match which was played at the Stade du Pays de Charleroi.
Malian midfielder Sambou Yatabare scored the only goal of the encounter in the 16th minute.
"I am very tired and have a lot of headaches after that collision in the first half," Opare said on Football Ghana.
The victory took Great Old to sixth spot on the league standings after match day one.
"But I kept going and wanted to continue playing. We have worked hard to get the three points here," he continued.
"It's certainly not easy to play on the Charleroi field, but it's been four years since I played here, but I still know football in Belgium.
"They are crazy ... In a good way", according to a smiling Opare. "It is fantastic to see them busy."
The Accra-born player joined Antwerp on a two-year deal from German Bundesliga side Augsburg, with an option for one additional year earlier this month.
There will be some Belgian Pro League action later tonight on Fox Sports at 10h45pm.
Opare's former club, Standard Liege taking on 2014/15 Pro League champions KAA Gent.
