Swansea City’s Ghanaian attacker Andre Ayew is set to join Super Lig giants Fenerbahce, according to a report in Turkey.

With the Swans having suffered relegation from the Premier League to the EFL Championship earlier this year, Ayew has been strongly linked with a move away from the club.

This despite his big-money move back to the Liberty Stadium at the beginning of the year following an unsuccessful spell with London side West Ham United.

According to reports on Turkish web portal Turkcell Bip Spor, the Black Stars forward will join the Super Lig contenders on a one-year loan deal worth €1.5 million and will earn €3.2 million within that period.

Fellow Turkish giants Galatasaray and Besiktas have also been linked with a move for the Ghanaian in recent weeks.

In other EFL Championship news, Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce says his side has been unable to shift unwanted players Micah Richards and Ross McCormack, meaning both may have to see out their contracts at the club.

The pair are both on big salaries that Villa need to shed given their financial crisis, but Bruce says the Villains are unable to do so at this time.

“You can’t (shift the pair on). We’ve got to be realistic, the only time you can shift them is when somebody wants them. Obviously we’ve got some big earners at the club,” said Bruce.

“That’s what Aston Villa is, it’s a big club and people have earned big money.

“What’s important is we keep the ones we want and of course there will be a few who ultimately move on.

“But sometimes when they’re on big salaries then you’ve obviously got to be patient and wait for their contracts to run out.”

Richards still has a year to run of his contract. His only appearance under Bruce was indeed his first game as manager back in 2016. As for McCormack, there are another two seasons remaining on his deal.
