Bout 6: WBA Pan African Super Middleweight title fight (12 rounds)
Boxers: Patrick ‘The Panther’ Mukala v Ibrahim Maokola
Winner: Patrick Mukala via knockout (One minutes, 36 seconds in the third round)

Patrick ‘The Panther’ Mukala defended his WBA Pan African Super Middleweight title with a third round knockout of Ibrahim Maokola at Africa Boxing 8 at Carnival City in Johannesburg on Friday night, July 20.

‘A great jab takes you around the world’ or so the saying goes, and if that is the case then we can expect to see Mukala jetting off to every corner of the earth.

The champion was simply just too good for his Tanzanian opponent and outclassed him from the first bell.

Mukala led with his stinging jab from the onset and it landed on the chin of Maokola almost every time he threw it.

To be honest, the champion put on a masterclass display with an array of skills that saw him not only scoring with the jab, but landing with every punch he threw, be it the upper cut, the hook or the straight right.

In the end it was the precision of Mukala’s straight right that ended the fight, putting Maokola on the canvas early in the third before the referee finally stopped the fight midway through the same round.

The victory for Mukala takes his fight record to W11 L1 while the loss for the Tanzanian takes his fight record to W12 L4 D2.
