Bout 2: International Cruiserweight Contest (4 rounds)
Boxers: Mike ‘God’s Boy’ Schutte v Limbani ‘Warrior’ Lano
Winner: Limbani Lano by majority decision (36-40, 38-38, 37-39)

The second bout of Africa Boxing 8 saw Limbano ‘Warrior’ Lano beat Mike ‘God’s Boy’ Schutte via majority decision in an International Cruiserweight Contest at Carnival City in Johannesburg on Friday night, July 20.

The fight started with a flurry of blows as Lano came out swinging and while most of his shots failed to find the mark, he certainly landed the more telling shots and won the opening round purely because he was the busier of the two fighters.

The second round saw Schutte trying to land a big left-hook, but the South African kept telegraphing the punch, and Lano took full of advantage by ducking under his show and landed a left-hook of his own.

The third round saw Schutte starting to tire but the Malawian continued to push the pace and again won the round because he threw more punches.

The last round saw both fighters going hell-for-leather, but neither could land the telling blow which would win them the fight comfortably.

In the end the bout went to the judge’s scorecards and Lano was handed the win by majority decision to take his fight record to W6 L3 D1.

The loss for Schutte was the second of his career and takes his fight record to W1 L2.
