National Basketball Association (NBA) side L.A. Clippers have signed free-agent forward Mike Scott, who was previously on the books of Washington Wizards.
Clippers President of Basketball Operations, Lawrence Frank confirmed the signing of the 29-year-old player, Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.
Frank stated that they are pleased to have added Scott to their squad ahead of the 2018/19 NBA season which is scheduled to start in October 2018.
“Mike is the type of player we will be proud to have representing the Clippers, through his play and his commitment to the team,” Frank said on Clippers’ NBA website.
“He has earned the reputation as a tough, hard-playing guy and a versatile offensive talent who is dedicated to improving his game and helping his team. We are thrilled to welcome Mike to the Clippers.”
“Scott, 29, appeared in 76 games for the Washington Wizards last season, averaging 8.8 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 40.5 percent from three-point range in 16.0 minutes.”
“The 6’8”, 237-pound forward has appeared in 357 career games across six NBA seasons with Washington and the Atlanta Hawks, holding career averages of 7.4 points and 3.0 rebounds to go along with 47.6 percent shooting from the field.”
“A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Scott was selected 43rd overall by Atlanta in the 2012 NBA Draft. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, where he was named to the All-ACC First Team in his redshirt senior season,” a NBA statement read.
