FC Bayern Munich have snapped up Robin Amaize from fellow German basketball side Medi Bayreuth.
The German shooting guard joined Bayern on a three-year deal ahead of the 2018/19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.
Amaize, who has played three matches for the Germany national basketball team, is one of the country’s top young talents.
The reigning German Basketball Bundesliga champions have now signed Amaize as they prepare for the new campaign.
A statement from EuroLeague read:
"Amaize (1.88 meters, 21 years old) arrives from fellow German side medi Bayreuth, where he spent the past two seasons. Last season he averaged 7.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists in a reserve role."
"Amaize had one of his best games against Bayern with 21 points on 5-of-8 three-point shooting plus 4 assists and 3 steals in a February game. He is a product of the MTV 1846 Giessen junior system and also played for LTi GIESSEN 46ers and Basketball Lowen Braunschweig before joining Bayreuth," a statement read.
"I'm looking forward to Munich and cannot wait for the season to finally start," Amaize said.
"I already noticed at the medical tests how much more professional everything is here. I did not want to miss the opportunity to prove myself in such an environment.
"I know how strong the squad is, but I expect myself to always give 100 percent. Then you will see what my role can be."
Bayern, who have clinched four Basketball Bundesliga trophies, will be hoping to win the EuroLeague for the first time.
