The Association of Basketball Clubs (ACB), the governing body for basketball in Spain, has named José Miguel Calleja as its new managing director.
Calleja’s appointment was approved by the general assembly of the ACB on Monday at the organisation’s headquarters in Barcelona.
The 43-year-old joins from PKF Attest, where he specialised in consulting, auditing and financial and corporate management.
The ACB says that Calleja has been working with the its board of directors and clubs since last October on the analysis and optimisation of the organisation, and therefore joins the governing body with an awareness of its projects, objectives and budget.
Additionally, the ACB’s member clubs have agreed to postpone the discussion and possible election of a new president.
