Matchday 7 of the 2018 FIFA World Cup was a sad one for Africa as Morocco exited the competition after losing 1-0 to Portugal in their second Group B match.
The loss combined with their opening 1-0 defeat to Iran means they are unable to qualify for the Last 16 of the competition and will face Spain in their last match with nothing but pride to play for.
Portugal, to be honest, were not very impressive and again Ronaldo raised his hand for the European nation with the winning goal in the fourth minute which takes his World Cup tally to four goals.
Group B, though, is still wide open with Spain beating Iran 1-0 thanks to a Diego Costa goal, also on Matchday 7.
That result leaves Spain and Portugal joint top of Group B with four points each, while Iran are third with three points.
Should Iran cause a major upset by beating Portugal in their final group game the side from Asia will surprisingly progress into the knockout stages.
In the only other game on Matchday 7, Uruguay advances into the Last 16 of the tournament after claiming a 1-0 win over Saudi Arabia.
The result confirms that Uruguay and the host nation Russia will advance from Group A, whipe the Green Flacons and Egypt will head home.
