Club Brugge moved to the top of the Belgium Pro League standings with a 2-0 win over KV Oostende on Saturday.
Nigeria’s David Okereke opened the scoring for Brugge in the 72nd minute before Percy Tau doubled the visitors lead as they made it three wins from three league games this season.
Tau, 25, opened his account on debut in a 6-0 thrashing of Sint-Truiden, and the Bafana Bafana international continued from where he left off to double his tally for the campaign.
“We really wanted to win against KV Oostende and thanks to a strong collective performance, we succeeded,” Tau told clubbrugge.be.
“Of course, I am also happy with my goal. I often asked for the ball, to create extra space in possession of the ball and to create offensive danger between the lines.
“Last season I played soccer at Union in 1B and it still requires some adjustment at Club to get used to certain automatisms, but the teammates and coach help me well with this. I do my utmost to do what the coach expects from me,” he concluded.
Tau scored 13 goals and assisted the same amount for Union Saint-Glloise last season, on his way to being named Proximus Player of the Season.
