Six Africans were on display as Ajax Amsterdam came from behind twice to salvage a 2-2 draw against Vitesse in their Eredivisie match on Saturday, August 3rd.
Both South African Thulani Serero and Moroccan Oussama Tannane started for Vitesse while Nigerian Hilary Gong came off the bench.
Cameroonian Andre Onana started in goals for Ajax wile Moroccan Hakim Ziyech started in attack and Moroccan Noussair Mazraoui came off the bench.
Matus Bero opened the scoring for Vitesse in the 13th minute, but his goal was cancelled out by Ajax’s Donny van de Beek on the half hour mark.
Riechedly Bazoer gave Vitesse for the second time ten minutes into the second half, but again Ajax fought back with an equalising goal in the 75th minute courtesy of a strike from Dusan Tadic.
