Feyenoord defender Jan-Arie van der Heijden has made it clear that he wants to leave the Dutch club.
The 31-year-old player has fallen out of favour under Jaap Stam at the Eredivisie giants.
Van der Heijden has now opened up ahead of the new 2019/20 Eredivisie season which will start this weekend.
“The trainer chooses other players. That is his right,” Van der Heijden told De Telegraaf.
“But I know my own qualities and I don’t think I should sit on the bench with that. Even at Feyenoord.”
The former Vitesse defender’s contract with Feyenoord is set to expire at the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

The encounter will be played at the Feyenoord’s home ground, De Kuip.
