South Africa's Team Dimension Data have announced their eight riders for the 2019 Tour de France which gets underway in Brussels on 6 July.

Norway’s Edvald Boasson Hagen has been included in the team and he is one of a handful, who have represented the team at every one of its appearances at the race since 2015.

He has won three stages of the Tour and comes into the race in good form with three wins under his belt this year, looking to again peak on the biggest stage.

However, Mark Cavendish was not included in the team and he will take part in the Tour de France for the first time since 2007.

Arsenal released the following statement on Tuesday:

"The 18-year-old’s development was also recently acknowledged by the Brazilian national team, with a call-up to the full squad for a training camp in May ahead of the Copa America."

"Gabriel was voted as the 2019 Best Newcomer and also a member of the 2019 Team of the Year for the Campeonato Paulista - the football league for the state of Sao Paulo."

"The deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes. Gabriel will shortly join up with his new teammates for pre-season training," a club statement read.

Martinelli will be hoping to emulate his countrymen Gilberto Silva, Edu and Silvinho, who had successful spells with Arsenal.
