The Mexican was on the right end of arguably the boxing shock of the year as he claimed a surprise seventh-round TKO win over Joshua at Madison Square Garden earlier this month.
Ruiz was only confirmed as Joshua's opponent at the eleventh hour after Jarrell Miller failed a drugs test, and while many wrote off the 29-year-old he toppled Joshua to walk away with the WBA, IBF, and WBO heavyweight titles.
Joshua triggers Ruiz rematch
Joshua was undefeated heading into what was his American debut in New York, but while many where shocked by the result, Ruiz claims that the Brit is simply 'not a good boxer'.
"The rematch is gonna be the same. I’m gonna be more prepared, more ready," said Ruiz.
“I know his flaws, I can do a lot better. I think the only thing he can do is just run around.
“He’s not good at boxing, he’s not a good boxer.
“It’s going to be a hell of a fight – Ruiz vs Joshua II.”
The duo will come to blows once more in a rematch later this year after Joshua triggered a clause in his contract with Ruiz soon after the defeat in the 'Big Apple'.
