Eredivisie runners-up PSV Eindhoven have been paired with Swiss side FC Basel for the second round of 2019/20 UEFA Champions League qualification.
Their second-place finish in the Dutch top flight last season means PSV – European Cup winners in 1988 – start at the same preliminary stage as eventual semifinalists and new Eredivisie champions Ajax did last year. The Amsterdam side will enter the third round of qualification in August.
PSV’s home leg will be played at the Philips Stadion on July 23 or 24, and the away tie is scheduled to take place in Basel on July 30 or 31.

If PSV manage to progress to the next round, they will face Linz, Basaksehir, Club Brugge or Krasnodar.
If they suffer defeat against FC Basel, they will book a place in the third qualifying round of the Europa League.
''Every team in the UEFA Champions League is a good side and so is FC Basel,” said PSV coach Mark van Bommel.
“They often compete in a European competition and frequently book a place in the group stages of the Champions League or Europa League.
“We will prepare for this second qualifying round. It is our ambition to reach the group stage and this is the first hurdle for us to clear.”
