The cities of Elmina and Cape Coast hosted both the first and second round fixtures with tournament concluding at Cape Coast Sports Stadium on 24 September 2017.

The First Round consisted of 16 teams from the West African region, split into Zone A and B, with the winners from each game progressing to the Second Round group stage.

Ghana, Nigeria, Benin and Niger progressed into the knockout stages from Group A and B respectively.

The Super Eagles edged past Benin in the semifinals to take their place in the final, closely followed by Black Stats who advanced to the showpiece with victory over Niger.

This duly set up a repeat of the group stage showdown between the two teams earlier in the tournament, which Nigeria won 2-0.

Ghana, though, would get their revenge with a 4-1 victory in front of their home fans. Isaac Twum was duly named Player of the Tournament for his role in leading Ghana to silverware.
