Middle-distance runner Donavan Brazier was delighted after anchoring the USA to victory in the mixed 2x2x400m at the 2019 IAAF World Relays Yokohama.

The USA duo of Donavan Brazier and Ce'Aira Brown took the 2x2x400m relay at the Yokohama Stadium in Japan on Saturday.

Brazier took command for good off of the final bend en route to a convincing 3:36.92 victory.

“I love this event,” said Brazier, who’ll split a US$25,000 winner’s check with Brown. “Technically this was a world record.”

Technically it is not according to the IAAF website, but it does set the bar as the fastest performance of its kind.

Australia was second in 3:37.61, while Japan finished third in 3:38.36.

The USA also won the 4x400m with the team comprising of My'Lik Kerley, Joanna Atkins, Jasmine Blocker, Dontavius Wright, Brionna Thomas and Olivia Baker.

Furthermore, the USA's Christina Clemons, Freddie Crittenden, Sharika Nelvis, Devon Allen, Queen Harrison and Ryan Fontenot won the Shuttle hurdles relay.

Only positive is that the season is over – Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United’s disappointing 2018/19 Premier League season came to an end on Sunday with a surprise 0-2 loss at home to relegated Cardiff City.

The match marked a fifth league outing without a win for the Red Devils, who finished in a lowly sixth place on the log and have a huge deficit to make up if they are to return to a position to challenge for honours.

In an indication of just how poor things currently are at the club, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told the media after the defeat to Cardiff that he was just grateful that the season had ended.

"[The] big plus [is that] the season is over," he said, though the Norwegian did praise the performance of youngster Mason Greenwood, whom he said had been the best player in a United shirt "by a mile".

"Mason Greenwood was brilliant, he was our best player by a mile and that says a lot about the kid,” explained ‘OGS’.

“He came into the team with a lack of confidence and you can see that has taken a toll. Not surprised by his performance, we know he is capable of that.”

United finished 32 points adrift of champions Manchester City and the same number of points above the relegation zone.
