New York Red Bulls sporting director Denis Hamlett has praised Alex Muyl after the midfielder extended his contract with the club.
The 23-year-old winger has signed a new multi-year deal as he nears his 100th Major League Soccer (MLS) appearance.
“We are pleased to complete this deal and extend Alex’s time with our club,” said Hamlett.
“Alex is the type of player that fits well in our system. He works hard, does the little things right and has the skills to be effective with and without the ball.
"Everyone in our organization is proud to see our Homegrown Players not just moving from the academy into MLS but having an impact and contributing to our club’s success year after year.”
Muyl, who has recorded 10 goals and 15 assists in 95 regular season matches, is pleased to have extended his stay with Red Bulls.
"I’m really happy to be signing a new contract at this club. I feel lucky to be at such a special organization, one that I’ve supported and played at since I was a kid," he said.
"I look forward to the years to come, and I’m excited to be a part of this club’s future.”
