The former Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool winger has been playing in his native Israel for the past five years.

Benayoun, 38, first arrived in England with West Ham United back in 2005 following an impressive three-year spell at Spanish club Racing Santander.

His exploits duly earned him a move to Liverpool two years later before spells at Chelsea, Arsenal, a second spell at West Ham and a short stint at Queens Park Rangers followed.

In total, Benayoun scored 31 goals and assisted a further 17 in 194 English Premier League appearances. Most of those games came in the red of Liverpool where he racked up 134 games across all competitions.

Benayoun is one of only three players to score a hat-trick in each of the English Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup, along with Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

Moreover, he made over 102 appearances for Israel in an international career spanning almost 19 years.
