Real Madrid Baloncesto point guard Luka Doncic has expressed his delight at winning the EuroLeague Final Four MVP award on Sunday.
The Slovenian player played an instrumental role in helping Real win the 2017/18 EuroLeague title after defeating defending champions Fenerbahce Dogus of Turkey 85-80.
Doncic recorded 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists to go alongside his stats recorded against Russian side CSKA Moscow.
Over 33 EuroLeague games, the 19-year-old averaged career-high 16 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
Doncic was also named the 2018 EuroLeague MVP (also recording the highest PIR of the entire season), thus being the youngest winner of the award in the process.
“It feels amazing. Everybody is asking me how it feels. I don't have any words. It feels amazing. It's incredible,” Doncic told the media.
“I have amazing teammates I have an amazing coach like Pablo Laso to give me the opportunity to play for him. It’s pretty easy to play with this team.
“This season is a dream-come-true for me. Three years ago when I won the junior title I was a little jealous of the pro guys.〈/p〉
"[Last season] was bad and good for me. I learned a lot of things. I think this year I was more confident,” he added.
“I learned a lot of toughness. I think I showed that. I think we played more like a team in this final."
The Spanish giants won their 10th EuroLeague title in club's history. They are most successful team in the history of the competition.
