Ivory Coast international Jeremie Boga has backed his Elephants teammate Nicolas Pepe to leave Lille for a “top club” at the end of the current season.
The 23-year-old Pepe has enjoyed a great campaign for Lille, racking up 19 goals and 11 assists in 33 matches across all competitions.
This has led to him being linked with some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United.
Boga, who plays his club football for Sassuolo in Italy, believes Pepe will make a headline-grabbing move to a major team in the offseason.
"Of course, with the season that he has had this year then I think next year that he will definitely go to a top club," Boga told Goal.
"He needs to make sure he makes the right decision on which one, but I am sure that next year he will be an attacker for a top, top club.
"I know him very well. He is a very good guy. He is technical, fast and clinical. You can see this year that he has been scoring a lot of goals and having a fantastic season. I am really happy for him."
Pepe and Boga will both hope to be part of Ivory Coast’s squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June and July.
