Herbalife Gran Canaria has brought back Pedro Martinez for a third time to be the rookie Turkish Airlines EuroLeague club's third head coach this season.

A club statement read: "Martinez replaces Victor Garcia, who had moved up from assistant coach in early December, replacing Salva Maldonado after 10 games.

"Gran Canaria went 3-7 under Maldonado and 3-12 under Garcia. Gran Canaria now sits 13th in the standings with a 6-19 overall record. Garcia will continue to work in sports management in the club," it was announced.

"Martinez, 57, had coached KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz to 17-13 record and the EuroLeague Playoffs last season, replacing Pablo Prigioni, before he was released himself after a 2-5 start this season."

"Martinez had two previous stints in Gran Canaria, from 2002 to 2005 and again from 2009 to 2014. He coached in the last two playoff finals of the Spanish League, winning it with Valencia Basket two years ago, and finishing second with Baskonia last season," another statement read.
