Leeds United and Sheffield United will meet for a crunch EFL Championship match at Elland Road on Saturday, 16 March 2019.

Catch the clash live on Fox Sports 1 from 14h25 CAT.

This meeting of the Whites and the Blades is set to be a key deciding factor in the race for the automatic promotion berths. This pair of clubs are joined by Norwich City in a three-way race at the top of the log – only the top two will rise into the Premier League, while the odd one out will have to gird themselves for the playoffs.

Leeds continued their fine form in midweek, defeating Reading 3-0 away from home thanks to a brace from Pablo Hernandez and the opener from Mateusz Klich. It was a fifth win from their last six league matches for the Whites, who continue to look strong contenders under manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Sheffield, meanwhile, extended their unbeaten run to nine matches thanks to a 2-0 home win over Brentford. The Blades played more than half of the game with 10 men after the sending off of Gary Madine, but triumphed thanks to goals from Oliver Norwood and David McGoldrick.

In head-to-head terms, Leeds and Sheffield have met in 53 matches across all competitions. The Whites have claimed 22 wins compared to 15 for the Blades, while 16 games have been drawn.

The teams’ Championship meeting earlier this season, at Bramall Lane in early December 2018, saw Leeds claim a 1-0 away win thanks to a late goal from Pablo Hernandez.
