Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo has called for the club’s supporters to help the team in their quest to make a stunning comeback against Atletico Madrid tonight.

The Italian giants host the Spanish side at the Allianz Stadium in Turin for the return leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie.

Atletico won the first leg 2-0 in Madrid last month and, given their defensive excellence under manager Diego Simeone, are the clear favourites to advance into the quarterfinals.

Yet Ronaldo, who has scored one goal and provided two assists in Juve’s Champions League campaign, insists the Bianconeri can mount a comeback in the tie – especially with the support of their faithful fans.

"On Tuesday night let's think positively, let's believe," said Ronaldo to Juve’s official media.

"It's possible [to comeback against Atletico], but we need your help to make the stadium look good and beautiful. Be everything together - everyone together.

"And we need your help because we are going to do our job on the pitch to try and score goals and win the game, and we need your support.

"Thank you very much. Get ready to comeback!"

The other Champions League clash taking place on Tuesday night sees Manchester City hosting Schalke at the Etihad Stadium. The Citizens have a 3-2 lead from the first leg in Germany.
