Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri has explained why it is dangerous to heap praise on Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The 18-year-old attacking midfielder came off the bench to net his third UEFA Europa League goal of the season during Chelsea 3-0 win over Dynamo Kiev on Thursday.
Italian tactician Sarri explained what is important for Callum Hudson-Odoi’s development following his impressive display against the Ukrainian giants.
"He does not have to do anything to convince me. He is a very great player. I have my opinion," Sarri said.
"In my opinion, a player at 18 years old cannot be at the top. He needs to improve until he is 22 or 23.
"Now he needs to improve without the pressure of the media, the fans and the club, but he is in my mind for every match," he continued.
"To have pressure when you are 18 is very dangerous for a player. You can lose [sight of] the target.
"When you are 18 the target is to improve tactically, mentally and physically. I don’t like to speak about him for this reason."
Hudson-Odoi has been linked with German giants Bayern Munich.
