Carlos Vela has warned rivals Los Angeles Galaxy that they will live to regret Giovani dos Santos' exit from the club.
Galaxy bought Dos Santos out of his contract last week to meet their designated player quota. The 29-year-old scored 28 goals in 88 games for Galaxy and Los Angeles FC forward Vela, believes Galaxy will rue letting his Mexican teammate leave.
"Obviously, I don't know the full situation but he knows, in the good times and the bad, he can count on me," Vela is quoted as saying. "I will always support [him] -- I will always be there for him."
"I am calm because he will show what a good player he is and surely Galaxy will regret having let him go," Vela concluded.
Dos Santos, who previously played for both FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur, has failed to live up to his early potential, but still has a lot to offer any team who are lucky enough to add him to their roster.
