Leicester City’s Nigerian star Wilfred Ndidi is recovering well from his hamstring injury and is set to be fit for the World Cup.
The midfielder was named in the Super Eagles’ 30-man preliminary squad for Russia 2018 and he appears to be recovering quicker than expected.
The 21-year-old suffered a hamstring injury in Leicester’s Premier League loss to Crystal Palace on April 28 and was expected to be sidelined for six weeks.
However, reports have emerged that he is already doing work in the gym and pool as he recuperates from the muscular injury.
“Ndidi is doing very, very well. He is recovering very well, all the worries are over now,” a source is quoted by Allnigeriasoccer.
“It is confirmed that he will go to the World Cup. He has not started training on the pitch but he's doing treadmill workouts and swimming exercises.”
Ndidi was a key man for Gernot Rohr’s side in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup, missing only Nigeria’s home clash against Algeria in the group stage.
