Former Formula 1 racer Felipe Massa has signed a three-year deal to join Formula E from the 2018/19 season.
The Brazilian will race for the Monaco-based Venturi team, which is co-owned by actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
The 37-year-old won 11 Grands Prix in his 15-year Formula 1 career and almost claimed the Drivers’ Championship in 2008 when still racing for Ferrari.
He retired from Formula 1 at the end of last season, after finishing 11th in the Championship with Williams Martini Racing.
"I'll do everything I can to contribute to the project and hopefully I'll be among the front runners," said Massa.
The electric street-racing series is nearing the end of its fourth season, with season five set to begin later this year.
Massa will take part in testing at the end of May before the new season starts.
