ASEC Mimosas welcome Group A rivals Mamelodi Sundowns in a crunch 2018-19 Caf Champions League showdown at Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan on Tuesday.

Kick-off is at 18h00 CAT.

The Ivorian giants will be desperate to exact revenge on the Brazilians having suffered a 3-1 defeat away to the 2016 champions in Tshwane earlier this month.

Mosa Lebusa, Themba Zwane and Emiliano Tade found the back of the net for Sundowns, in a game that could've ended in an even more emphatic scoreline for the hosts - had it not bee for some courages defending by ASEC throughout.

ASEC sit three points behind Sundonwns and Wydad Casablanca after three rounds of fixtures. The Ivorian club lost 5-2 away to the Moroccan's in Rabat before edging Lobi Stars 1-0 in their most recent encounter.

Sundowns on the other hand bounced back from a 2-1 loss in Nigeria with back-to-back wins to lead the group heading into the midweek round of fixtures.

Anthony Laffor expects a different challenge all together from ASEC in the Ivory Coast, with the hosts eager to keep their knockout stage hopes alive.

“It is going to be difficult game in their own backyard where they usually enjoy massive support‚ but then they need to come out and attack us‚” said Laffor.

“In Pretoria‚ they sat back and wanted to catch us on the counterattack but they are under pressure to win because they are at home and they want to improve their position on the log.

“If they become desperate and come all out at us‚ we could use that to our advantage. We just need to hold them in the first 20 to 30 minutes and see how the game goes.”

Youssef Essrayri of Tunisia will take charge of the clash.
