Dutch cyclist Dylan Groenewegen won the final stage of the 2019 Tour of Valencia with Ion Izagirre wrapping up the overall victory in Spain on Sunday.
The Jumbo-Visma rider made a late surge to beat Alexander Kristoff of UAE Team Emirates and Mitchelton-Scott's Matteo Trentin to the line in a close finish.
"It was a hard final, with a lot of corners. I was a bit far back on the last corner," Groenewegen told reporters.
"But I could make my jump at the good moment."It’s the first win of 2019 for me, and the first for the team too, so that’s really good and now I can look forward to the next races."
Astana rider Izagirre triumphed overall on Sunday after finishing ahead of his fellow Spaniard Alejandro Valverde of Movistar.
"It's been a while without winning, without having this feeling and this taste in my mouth," Izagirre said.
"It's what I crave and what I wanted most. We have started the season in the best possible way, with a victory for me and for the team."
Astana's Pello Bilbao completed an all-Spanish podium by coming third overall, 16 seconds ahead of Irish cyclist Dan Martin of UAE Team Emirates.
