It was a great night for Nigerian Israel ‘Style Bender’ Adesanya who defeated UFC living legend Anderson Silva at UFC 234 at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australian on Sunday.

Adesanya’s fight record moved to 16-0 with a unanimous decision over the three rounds, winning all three rounds by two judges while one judge gave a single round to Silva.

The 43-year-old Silva hinted at retirement following the fight while Adesanya was full of praise for him.

“This is like, for a kid, if I played basketball against Michael Jordan,” said Adesanya.

“This is it for me. I do it against the best. Anderson, thank you. You’ve been doing this for a long time my friend, I appreciate you.”

The original main event at UFC 234 was supposed to be the Middleweight title fight between champion Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum, but it was called off just hours before the event.

Unfortunately, Whittaker had to have emergency surgery on Sunday morning local time in Melbourne after dealing with a hernia overnight.
