R-Motorsport founder Florian Kamelger is looking forward to the 2019 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) season.
The new campaign will be kicked-off (03rd to 05th May, 2019) at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg that also will stage the season finale (04th to 06th October, 2019).
Kamelger believes that racing and beating DTM giants Audi and BMW is a big ask.
However, Kamelger thinks it’s an achievable goal despite BMW having won three of the last 10 DTM teams' championships, while Audi has won four trophies during this period.
“We will definitely be good for the upper end of the grid,” Kamelger said on the DTM's official website.
“I think it’s a bit too early to start talking about race wins – particularly against two big, established manufacturers who we know will be strong.
"But, equally, we want to show what we’re capable of – it’s just that, when you’re starting to walk, you don’t immediately aim to win the 100 metres at the Olympics!”
Mercedes-Benz won last year's DTM teams' championship.
