Rangers FC manager Steven Gerrard sang the praises of his side as they fought to claim a victory over Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
The Gers secured a 4-2 win in a crazy Scottish Premier League (SPL) game which was played at the Pittodrie Stadium.
“They gave me, the fans and the club everything, and that is what we need against tough opposition like Aberdeen away at Pittodrie," Gerrard said.
“It was a firey game and a very physical game, but we stood up to the challenge and at the right times, we showed incredible quality.
“We had to hang on a little bit at the end at times and it was difficult to find the formation to get us over the line, but Jermain Defoe came up trumps and that is the reason why I tried so hard to get him through the door as he had one chance and one goal there, and that gave us a little bit of breathing space at the end," he added.
“I am delighted with all the goals tonight. Tav (James Tavernier) shows his nerve on the penalty, Alfredo (Morelos)’s second goal was an incredible finish and he took his first goal well as well as having another chance in the second half.
“Then Jermain came on and showed why he has been at the top of the game all the way through."
Despite the win, Rangers remained second on the SPL standings - six points behind the leaders, Celtic FC.
