Former Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba has been linked with a move to Celtic as part of a swap deal that will see Olivier Ntcham head in the opposite direction.
According to the Scottish Sun, Portuguese giants Porto will make a £14million bid for Ntcham with the club also ready to offer Mbemba to the Scottish champions as part of the deal.
Porto head coach Sergio Conceicao is believed to be a huge admirer of Ntcham and has in the past reportedly expressed his interest in luring the 22-year-old to Portugal.
Ntcham, who is of Cameroonian descent, joined Celtic from Manchester City two years ago. The midfielder has scored 15 goals in 78 appearances for Celtic across all competitions.
Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers has in the past expressed interest in signing Mbemba, who joined Porto from Newcastle United in July.
The 24-year-old, though, has struggled in Portugal and has featured a mere five times across all competitions. Rodgers reportedly views him as the perfect replacement for Dedryck Boyata who seems to be on his way out of the club at the end of the season.
If Mbemba is to join the Hoops, he will join national teammate Youssouf Mulumbu at Celtic Park.
