pro league's top four drop points, anderlecht v genk clash to headline round 17

The Belgian Pro League top four teams failed to collect maximum points on match-day 16.

Zimbabwean midfielder Marvellous Nakamba and his Club Brugge team-mates were stunned 2-0 by Zulte-Waregem on Friday night.

Standard Liege secured a convincing 3-0 win over AS Eupen on Saturday, while KV Oostende lost 3-1 to KV Kortrijk.

Ghanaian defender Joseph Aidoo netted an own as his side, Genk, who are the current log leaders, sucumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Cercle Brugge.

On Sunday, Anderlecht suffered a 4-2 defeat to Sint-Truiden and Gent played to a 0-0 draw with Antwerp.

Match-day 17 action will be headlined by a clash between Anderlecht and Genk on Sunday.

Gent, who have Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi on their books, will lock horns with Lokeren on Friday in the first game of the weekend.

Sporting Charleroi will play host to Cercle Brugge on Saturday, while Kortrijk are expected to take on Royal Excel Mouscron.
