The Washington Wizards announced that the team has signed free agent forward Okaro White, who has averaged 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds in 41 career games over the last two seasons (2016-18) with the Miami Heat; and Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner reiterated his desire for an in-person meeting with Manny Machado, so he and general manager Brian Cashman can determine if the free-agent infielder is a fit for New York.

UFC & boxing

Cameroonian mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou finished off his 2018 campaign in epic fashion when he defeated American fighter Curtis Blaydes at UFC Fight Night 141 in Beijing, China on Saturday; and Michael Hunter, who continued his hot streak in the heavyweight division by savagely toppling Alexander Ustinov in Monte Carlo, says the more people doubt him, the more determined he becomes.

Cycling, athletics & tennis

Irish road race champion Conor Dunne’s 2019 contract with Israel Cycling Academy has been supported by an unlikely source in that of Aqua Blue Sport owner Rick Delaney; MedKenyan world 800 metres bronze medalist Kipyegon Bett has been handed a four-year ban for doping, the IAAF Athletics Integrity Unit said in a statement on Friday; and Irish road race champion Conor Dunne’s 2019 contract with Israel Cycling Academy has been supported by an unlikely source in that of Aqua Blue Sport owner Rick Delaney.
