WBA, WBC and Ring Magazine title belts holder, Alvarez, has revealed that he will fight Gennady Golovkin for a third time, if the Khazakstani boxer wins a world title belt.
The two fighters have come to blows on two previous occasions. Their first bout in 2017 ended in a controversial draw before Alvarez beat his rival in the rematch last year.
The Mexican will next face IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs on May 4 and while he is fully concentrated on knocking down the American, the 28-year-old has welcomed the prospect of another fight against Golovkin.
“Look, first things first, we have a tough, difficult fight ahead of us,” he stated, per Boxing Scene.
“But as a team, we have a goal. The objective of this year is to win all the belts.
“If Golovkin has a belt, yes, why not?
"We’ve given the fans two beautiful fights, two great fights. Why not a third?”
